Beccy
Founder, Manager, Designated Safeguarding Officer, First Aid Trained, Sustainability Lead and SEND Coordinator. Qualifications include Level 3 SEND, Level 3 Childcare, HND Performing Arts. Beccy is Mum to 3 teenage girls and has been childminding since 2007. She opened the Playschool in January 2024. Beccy understands the importance of good partnerships with parents and the trust involved with placing your children in our care. She works in ratio with babies and playschool children for a large proportion of the week.
Charlie
Founder, Manager, First Aid Trained and Forest School Leader. Charlie’s qualifications include Level 3 childcare and Level 3 Forest School Leader. In a previous life Charlie worked at camp America and also as a chef! He joined the childminding business in 2009 to spend time with his 3 daughters and opened the Playschool in January 2024. Charlie is a huge advocate of outdoor play and forest school adventures. He leads our Small Nurture Groups in the forest garden as well as planning forest school activities for all the children.
Eve
Deputy Manager and Designated Safeguarding Lead. Qualifications include Level 3 childcare, Paediatric First Aid and many many CPD courses. Eve has a wealth of experience working with children for many years and has 7 children of her own. She joined Hippy Kids in May 2023 and her youngest child who is not so little anymore was a mindee of Beccy and Charlie’s many years ago.
Lily
Lily is a Level 3 qualified Early Years Educator and is First Aid Trained. She is Beccy and Charlie’s eldest daughter and has grown up surrounded by small folk at the childminding house. Lily joined the Hippy Kids team as an apprentice in December 2023 and loves learning about child development, SEND, and working with children of all ages.
Kim
Kim joined us in May 2024 and is a Senior Early Years Practitioner and Room Leader. She is a Level 3 Early Years Educator and is First Aid trained. Kim has a wealth of experience and extensive training in all aspects of child development and safeguarding. She has a puppy at home called Pedro.
Vicky-Ann
Early Years Practitioner, First Aid trained and a Mum of 3 girls. Vicky-Ann has been a part of Hippy Kids for 5 years. She spends her working days at our Playschool setting with pre school aged children and is the most playful adult you will ever meet.
Harley
Senior Early Years Practitioner and Room Leader, Level 3 Early Years Educator and First Aid Trained. Harley has lots of experience and has worked in nurseries for 6 years. She joined Hippy Kids in March 2024. Harley is our baby whisperer and can perform magic at nap times!
Rain ‘Miss Sparkles’
Yoga & Mindfulness Leader and First Aid Trained. Miss Sparkles is a qualified yoga teacher and mindfulness expert who leads weekly sessions and spreads general JOY at Hippy Kids every Thursday. She is also Level 2 trained in childcare and is a children’s party entertainer. Rain is a mum of 2 boys and has been teaching yoga at Hippy Kids for many years.
Morgan
Morgan is studying towards her Level 3 Early Educator Qualification and is First Aid Trained. She is Eve’s eldest daughter and has been working at Hippy Kids since January 2024. Morgan works with all age groups across 3 days of the week. She brings Creativity and Joy to Hippy Kids and has a background in Art and Ceramics.
Luci
Luci is a Mum of 4 girls and has a NVQ Levels 2 and 3 in Play Work. She is also First Aid Trained. Luci joined the team in March 2024 after stalking Hippy Kids on social media! She swiftly became our bank member/superwoman and now works at Playschool 3 days a week with all age groups. She has a very gentle nature and the children adore her.
Alex
Alex joined us as a member of staff in February 2025 but is very familiar with our Hippy Kids family as we have been caring for his daughter since 2021. Alex is originally from Australia but has called Brighton home for well over a decade now. He has two young girls of his own and is a level 3 qualified Early Years Educator. He is also First Aid Trained. Alex loves working with children and especially embraces how valuable play is to their holistic development.
