Our Nest

We are situated in South Portslade in a surprisingly spacious 3 storey Victorian terrace house. Parents often say their first impression is that Hippy Kids is a calm and homely place.

We have an open plan area downstairs which we use for all kind of adventures. It is a very colourful and bright space, we display the children’s art work and we’re not afraid of making a mess. We have tuff trays that we use for exploring and imaginative play, a lovely big table for art and cooking and a cosy area for reading and cuddles.

We have play areas upstairs that have many different uses including a home corner, small world play and quiet time when needed. We also have dedicated sleeping areas with cots for nap time.

We like to rotate our resources to keep the children interested. We love a project and have spent time making new toys such as cardboard submarines, robots and a great ‘busy board’ to satisfy the curious little fingers.

There is a large garden with a mud kitchen and vegetable patch to keep the children busy. It is a tranquil enclosed space with lots of greenery and pebbles. We have astro turf which enables us to enjoy the outdoors whatever the weather.
